Bea Samuel Montgomery, 94, Taylor Co., KY/Owen Co., KY native (1923-2018)

Bea was an amazing woman. She was not only a homemaker, she was a surgical technician, she co-owned with her husband Ollie, Montgomery Shoe Store and the Cozy Theatre. She was a former president of the Democratic Women's Club, a member of the Campbellsville Women's Club and a former chairperson for the Cancer Crusade. She was a long-time member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Paul Cobb & Cora Coleman Cobb, and the widow of Ollie Montgomery. She leaves a total of seven direct and step living descendants and many others to treasure her memory.

Funeral services for Bea Samuel Montgomery will be a at 10amCT/11amET,Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue in Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Paul Patton. Entombment will be in Brookside Mausoleum, 200 Block of W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, June, 22, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Bea Samuel Montgomery was the daughter of the late Paul Cobb & Cora Coleman Cobb. She was born November 27, 1923 in Owen County, KY. She died , Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 94 years, six months, and 20 days.

Bea was an amazing woman. She was not only a homemaker, she was a surgical technician, she co-owned with her husband Ollie, Montgomery Shoe Store and the Cozy Theatre. She was a former president of the Democratic Women's Club, a member of the Campbellsville Women's Club and a former chairperson for the Cancer Crusade. She was a long-time member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Ollie Montgomery on November 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death March 25, 1994.

She is survived by:
  • One granddaughter: Samantha Montgomery of Lexington, KY

  • A daughter-in-law: Dee Montgomery of Philadelphia, PA

  • Two step-grandchildren: Joe Brogan and wife, Jordan; and Lisa Schafer and husband, Steve

  • Four step-great-grandchildren: Sydney Lynn Schafer, Tyler Schafer, Joey Brogan and Jackson Brogan, all of Philadelphia, PA

  • Ten nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends, including the especially cherished Johnson family
She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Lynn C. Montgomery; and two brothers and two sisters: Tye Cobb, Sarah Frances Florian, R.C. Cobb and Ann Smith.
