William Jones, 86 Green County, KY (1931-2018


He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. He was dispatcher for the Greensburg Police Department for 36 years. He was a member of a large, respected family now widespread, but with deep Green County roots. He was the son of the late Cleo & Alverta Risen Jones. His final resting place will be in Greensburg Cemetery on N Main Street.

William Jones, 86, Green County, KY, departed this life on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at his home.

The funeral will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 1pmCT, June 20, 2018 with Bro. Twyman Davis the officiating minister. Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Visitation will be 11am-1pmCT, Wednesday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.

William Jones was born October 17, 1931 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Cleo & Alverta Risen Jones. He departed this life June 16, 2018 at his home in Green County, KY, having attained the age of 86 years, seven months and 29 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. He was dispatcher for the Greensburg Police Department for 36 years.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law: R.T. Henderson.

He is survived by:
  • One sister: Bethel Henderson of Winston-Salem, NC

  • One brother & sister-in-law: Thomas Doyle & Carolyn Jones of Louisville, KY

  • One nephew: Steve (& Marcy) Jones

  • Nieces: Annette (& Mark) Robertson: and Vonda Henderson

  • Great nephews and nieces: Cory Jones, Shannon and Cory Gibson and Denise and Wayne Heidel

  • Great great nephews: Charlie and Noah

  • Plus a host of other relatives and frends
