Click on headline for complete story From the office of Brian Wright Commonwealth's Attorney, 29th Judicial Circuit, Adair & Casey Counties On June 11, 2018, Ricky Dale George (age 50) appeared in Casey Circuit Court and entered a guilty plea to one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree [cocaine] and two counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree [methamphetamine]. These crimes occurred in June 2015 and were investigated by the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations (DESI) drug task force. This drug task force consisted of officers from various law enforcement agencies - including Det. Dennis Allen with the Casey County Sheriff's Department and other officers from the Kentucky State Police and the Campbellsville Police Department. Ricky Dale George had been indicted for selling a quantity of cocaine to an undercover informant on June 3, 2015, and for selling a quantity of methamphetamine to an undercover informant on June 4, 2015. Officers stopped a vehicle that Ricky Dale George was traveling in later on June 4, 2015, and seized approximately two (2) ounces of methamphetamine from Mr. George along with some of the "buy money" that had been used in the cocaine transaction on June 3, 2015. Commonwealth's Attorney Brian Wright has recommended that Ricky Dale George serve ten (10) years in prison on these charges, to be served consecutively to a five (5) year sentence that he is currently serving out of the Adair Circuit Court. Wright commended local law enforcement officers for their efforts in seizing a large quantity of drugs in Casey County. According to Wright, "this collaborative effort among various law enforcement agencies in our community has helped to secure a conviction and lengthy prison sentence for an individual caught dealing in cocaine and methamphetamine in Casey County." Final sentencing is scheduled for July 23, 2018, at 1pmET, before Casey Circuit Judge Judy Vance Murphy. This story was posted on 2018-06-11 19:10:45
