Bourbon thief gets 15 years behind bars PAPPYGATE CASE: A man who led the theft of tens of thousands of dollars worth of expensive bourbon from two Central Kentucky distilleries has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Gilbert "Toby" Curtsinger, a former distillery worker, pleaded guilty last year to stealing the bourbon. On Friday, he learned his sentence in Franklin Circuit Court. Curtsinger took Pappy Van Winkle bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. He also stole bourbon from Wild Turkey Distillery in Anderson County. The theft came to be known as "Pappygate."
