Adair County High School seniors went on the traditional walk through tour of each school dressed in their caps and gowns starting at 9:30amCT May 22, 2018. The tour was called by one teacher, "the best thing we ever did for school spirit." Seniors first walked the ACHS halls, lined with juniors, sophomores and freshmen then through each school in turn, ACPC, ACES and ACMS, revisiting the grades and teachers they'd worked with through their 12-year careers.

The cheers and shouts and high fives and good wishes in those hallways made the seniors feel like rock stars and filled hearts with happiness.

The ACHS Class of 2018 Commencement Ceremony is tonight, May 25, 7pmCT at Adair County High School's John Burr Memorial Gymnasium, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY.

Photos accompanying this story are from one of the four schools, ACES, where elementary students lined the halls and cheered the students on, admiring them and glimpsing what's in store as they progress from elementary grades on to high school and graduation.

ACHS 2018: Senior Walk at ACES, the crying Moms

2018-05-27 - Adair County Elementary School, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.
They called this group the line of "crying Moms" because each had a graduate in their family and the joy and emotion of the moment couldn't help but bring tears. From left are: Jennifer Kemp, Cindy Hadley, Debbie Cowan and Beth Ellison, mothers of seniors Jax Kemp, Bryant Smith, Gabe Cowan and Haley Ellison. (Thanks to Debbie Cowan for helping us get the names of all the ACES family correct in the photos of the Walk, and congratulations to all the graduates, and to all the parents who helped bring them to this moment.)
