LWC Track & Field at NAIA National Championship

The Lindsey Wilson track & field team begins competition at the 67th annual Men's and 38th annual Women's NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on Thursday at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium, 18999 Oak Rd W, Gulf Shores, AL.

Lindsey Wilson is sending 13 total student-athletes to the three-day competition, eight from the men's team and five qualifiers for the women's team, to participant in 16 events at the championships.

Christian Davis, Pierre Ezanno, Kevin Hallmon, Holt Keeling, Jaylyn McMurry, Goabaone Mosheleketi, Cameron Murphy and Anthony Thompson will represent the men's team, while Safia Bright, Alexia DeHaven-Boyd, Leia Gregory, Annesha Harris and Paige Pettell account for the women's qualifiers.


Pettell starts off competition for LWC on Thursday in the women's hammer throw final. She is seeded 21st in the event. The Blue Raiders take to the track starting at 2:30pmCT with the 4x100-meter relay trials. Bright, DeHaven-Boyd, Gregory and Harris posted the seventh-fastest qualifying time during the regular season for the women's team, while the men's team will be represented by a combination of Davis, Ezanno, Hallmon, Keeling, McMurry, Mosheleketi and Thompson after posting the fifth-fastest time in the NAIA this season. Both squads hope to advance to the championship finals on Saturday starting at 2:40pmCT.

LWC is slated to compete in five-consecutive track events starting at 4pmCT on Thursday. DeHaven-Boyd starts the string of events in the 400-meter hurdle trials after qualifying in 19th. Murphy follows for the men in the 400 hurdle trials with the seventh-best qualifying time. Bright and Hallmon follow in the women and men's 200 meter dash trials. Bright was the 24th-best qualifier and Hallmon was the ninth-fastest this season. The quartet is all hoping to qualify for their respective championship finals on Saturday.

Harris competes in the final event of the day for LWC in the women's long jump final. She posted the 17th-best distance this season.

Friday begins with Pettell and Mosheleketi starting things off with the women's shot put and men's long jump at 1pmCT Pettell had the 12th-best distance in the NAIA this season while Mosheleketi had the 19th-best in his event.

Bright and Hallmon are back for the 100-meter trials at 2:50pmCT and 3:10pmCT Bright had the 17th-quickest time and Hallmon had the fourth-best in the NAIA this year. Gregory wraps up day two for LWC in the women's triple jump set for 5:30pmCT She had the 14th-best distance this year.

Mosheleketi, Ezanno and Thompson open Saturday at 1:30pmCT in the triple jump final. Mosheleketi, the reigning NAIA Outdoor National Champion, posted the top qualifying time during the season in the event. Ezanno qualified 10th and Thompson qualified 16th in the event.

Gregory and Pettell both compete at 2pmCT in the high jump and discus finals, respectively. Gregory had the seventh-best height this season and Pettell had the 18th-best distance.

The remaining track finals take place throughout the day on Saturday starting at 2pmCT, followed by the awards ceremony at the conclusion of all the events. The top eight athletes in each event score team points and earn NAIA ASICS All-American honors.
