Mrs. Robbie Gay Wells Allen, 100, Burkesville, KY (1917-2018)

She was a member of the Irish Bottom Christian Church and a homemaker. and the matriarch of a highly regarded Cumberland County, KY family. She born in the Irish Bottom Community of Cumberland County and was a resident of the county at the time of her death over a century later. She was the daughter of Tilford B. Jr, & Wonnie Mackey Wells, and the widow of Joe B. Allen. She leaves three direct living descendants, spanning three generations. Her final resting place will be in Burkesville Cemetery.

Mrs. Robbie Gay Wells Allen, 100, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2:30pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, KY. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Saturday, May 19, 2018 until the funeral hour on Sunday, at the funeral home.



Mrs. Robbie Gay Wells Allen, 100, Cumberland Co. KY (1917-2018)


She was born in the Irish Bottom Community of Cumberland County, KY on Friday, December 21, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Tilford B. Jr, & Wonnie Mackey Wells. She died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 100 years, four months, and 25 days.

She was a member of the Irish Bottom Christian Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Allen, whom she wed on Friday, August 11, 1939; and her sister, Hazel Wells. She is survived by:
  • Her daughter: Janet Sue (and Randall) Page of Burkesville, KY

  • Her granddaughter: Janna (and Alan) Cash

  • Her great-grandson: Luke Cash

  • Nieces and nephews: Glenn Orton, Bobby Orton, Doris Brown, Brenda Smith, Roger Murphy

  • A host of other relatives, and many, many friends
