Sparks Park, Lindsey Wilson Sports Complex, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY Click on headline for complete story By Christopher Coombs, Lindsey Wilson Athletics COLUMBIA, KY – (Mon 14 May 2018) Fourth seeded Saint Xavier found a way to push one run across the plate in the sixth inning of a pitchers dual between the Cougars Allison Golic and the Lions Vanessa Dwyer to advance to the winners bracket game later today. Saint Xavier’s Allison Golic (18-7) pitched a complete game shutout after allowing five hit, recording eight strikeouts against 25 batters. Vanguard’s Vanessa Dwyer (21-5) also pitched a complete game allowing just three hits against 22 batters adding six strikeouts. The Cougars had a chance to score in the fourth inning when they were able to put two runners on base via singles by Lexxie Lix and Tori Keilman. The inning came to a close during the next at bat ending their chance to score. The Cougars then broke the tie game and took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the sixth inning. Tori Williams opened the inning with a walk and then moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt.
