Taylor County man, 56, arrested following car chase 56 year old Campbellsville, KY suspect arrested, lodged in Taylor County Detention Center facing multiple charges after alleged flight after traffic stop on South Central Avenue to Bell Avenue, at speeds 20 MPH over limit, police say. NOTE: Arrests are considered charges. An arrest is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged in an arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. By Tpr Nick Hale, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY TAYLOR COUNTY, KY (Mon 14 May 2018) - On May 13, 2018 at approximately 8:04pmET Trooper Daniel Forbis was stopping on South Central Avenue to assist Campbellsville Police Department with a traffic stop on a blue 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Trooper Forbis observed the male driver slam the driver door shut and take off at a high rate of speed, running a stop sign. Units then pursued the vehicle until it stopped on Bell Avenue. William E. Nugent, age 56, of Campbellsville was arrested and charged with Speeding 20 MPH over limit, disregarding stop sign, fleeing or evading police, 1st degree, (motor vehicle,) wanton endangerment-1st degree police officer, resisting arrest, operating motor vehicle under the influence alc/drugs/etc .08 (aggravated circumstances) 3rd offense, failure to wear seat belts, and possession of open alcoholic container in motor vehicle prohibited.Nugent was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center, Campbellsville, KY.
