Letter carriers' 26th annual food drive is set for Saturday, May 12 in Columbia, and throughout America

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 26th annual national food drive on Saturday, May 12th. The Stamp Out Hunger(R) Food Drive, the country's largest single-day food drive, provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need in the community.

On this day, Mail carrier's in Columbia and Adair County will be collecting non-perishable food items like canned meats and fish, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice to help families in need in our communities.

You can help by placing your food donation at your mailbox on May 12th before your mail carrier arrives. It will be collected by your mail carrier and then delivered to the local food bank.

If you are not able to leave an item by your mailbox on the 12th but would still like to contribute, you may drop your food contribution off at the Columbia Post Office at 800 Burkesville St any time before May 12th.

People who have questions about the drive in their area should ask their letter carrier, contact their local post office, 270-384-3206, Randal.K.Murrell@usps.gov, or visit online at nalc.org/food.
