Fatality/injury accident closes KY 210, Hardin Co., KY

Two vehicle tragedy occurs when 2002 Toyota Avalon crosses centerline and collides with 2007 Toyota Yaris. Driver of Yaris pronounced deceased at the scene. Driver of Avalon airlifted to UL Hospital in Louisville, KY. Accident continues under investigation by Detective/Reconstructionist Bryan Washer.

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - (Mon 30 Apr 2018) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers responded to a two vehicle collision in Hardin Co, KY, Monday afternoon.

On April 30, 2018 at approximately 2:23pmET, KSP received a call of a two vehicle accident on KY 210 Hodgenville Road, Hardin County.

Judy Summers, 76, of Elizabethtown, KY, was traveling East on KY 210 in a 2002 Toyota Avalon.

Helen Bartley, 57, of New Haven, KY, was traveling West on KY 210 in a 2007 Toyota Yaris. For unknown reasons, Summers crossed the center line of the roadway and struck the vehicle operated by Bartley.

Bartley was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office and Summers was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital and is in critical condition at this time.

KY 210 Hodgenville Road was shut down for approximately 2 hours while KSP Troopers reconstructed the accident.

The accident is still under investigation by Detective/Reconstructionist Bryan Washer.
