Bro. Dennis Morgan, Sr., Casey County, KY (1947-2018)

Bro. Dennis was a minister for more than thirty years and currently ministered Victory Baptist Church in Casey County. He formerly operated Morgan's Heating and Air. He could be described as a loving father and husband who was very hardworking. His wife of 47 years, Donna Kay May Morgan, survives. He leaves 22 direct living descendants. He was one of nine children of the late Brooklyn and Hazel Maupin Morgan. With his passing five of his siblings survive.

Bro. Dennis Morgan, Sr., 70, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Victory Baptist Church with Bro. Chuck Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Springs Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET . on Friday, April 27, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, as well as 9am-1pmCT/10am-2pmET, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Victory Baptist Church.


Bro. Dennis' pallbearers will be Dennis Morgan, Jr., Jamie Jones, Dylan Jones, James Morgan, Steve Morgan and Westley Durham.

Born on October 16, 1947, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Brooklyn and Hazel Maupin Morgan. He died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 70 years, six months, and nine days.

Bro. Dennis was a minister for more than thirty years and currently ministered Victory Baptist Church in Casey County. He formerly operated Morgan's Heating and Air. He could be described as a loving father and husband who was very hardworking.

Bro. Dennis is survived by:
  • His loving wife of 47 years: Donna Kay May Morgan, whom he wed on June 27, 1970

  • His two daughters, Melissa (David) Weaver of Knoxville, TN and Becky (Steve) Durham of Liberty, KY

  • His son: Dennis (Sylvia) Morgan, Jr.

  • His eleven grandchildren

  • His eight great-grandchildren

  • His three sisters: Kathy (Donald "Bud") Mathews, Ruthie (Mike) Sallee and Eva Jo Morgan

  • His two brothers: James (Debbie) and Steven G. (Sissy) Morgan
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Ray Morgan, Rudy Gerald Morgan and Bobbie G. Morgan.
