Leon Franklin, 85, Russell County, KY (1932-2018)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Russell County, KY family. He was the son of the late Lora Brumley Franklin and Dewey Franklin. He was a native of Jamestown, KY, a resident at the time of his death, and his final resting place will be in the city of his birth. He leaves 57 direct living descendants. He was a veteran and will be accorded full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard at committal rites.

Leon Franklin, 85, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Health Systems, Jamestown, KY.

Funeral Services for Leon Franklin will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, at 1pmCT, Thursday April 26, 2018, with Bro. Herl Robertson officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday after 11amCT at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Jamestown Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Military Honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.



Leon Franklin, 85, Russell County, KY (1932-2018)

He was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, December 23, 1932. He was a son of the late Lora (Brumley) and Dewey Franklin. He passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 85 years, four months and two days.

He is survived by:
  • Four sons: Ronald, Donald, Dennis and Jeffrey Franklin all of Russell Springs, KY.

  • Four daughters: Deloris Miller, of Jamestown, KY; Patricia Graves, of Russell Springs, KY; Beverly Wilson, of Campbellsville, KY; and Linda Carol Stapp, of Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister Faye Enochs, of Lexington, KY

  • Twenty-one grandchildren

  • And 28 great grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Reba (Bell) Franklin, 4 brothers Robert, Jimmy, Joe and Jackie Franklin, 3 sisters Mae Vanhook, Evelyn Davis and Elizabeth Logan, 1 granddaughter and 2 great granddaughters.
