All application forms must be mailed directly to: Kentucky Department of Education, Commissioner of Education, 300 Sower Blvd 5th Floor, Frankfort, KY 40501. By Ed Waggener The Kentucky Commissioner of Education is seeking applicants to fill the unexpired term of Adair County School Board Div 5 board member Mike Harris, whose resignation created a vacancy. Individuals are invited "to nominate yourself or someone else you know who is qualified to serve on the Adair County Board of Education representing Education Division #5 Adair County School system." Mr. Harris' expired term is until Jan 2021. He was the longest serving board member at the time he moved from the Ozark community to Downtown Columba, necessitating his resignation. He was unopposed in the November 16, 2018, General Election, and voters affirmed his popularity with a resounding 1,088 votes. Adair County School Board Division 5 includes the precincts of Ozark, West Columbia, and East Columbia.
