Top-seeded LWC women's tennis in MSC tournament action Sat By Christopher Coombs The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team begins its hunt for a 14th-consecutive Mid-South Conference Tournament title at 2pmCT on Saturday at Warren East High School, 6867 Louisville Rd, Bowling Green, KY. The Blue Raiders (10-2, 6-0 MSC) have won the past 13 conference tournaments dating back to 2005. Last season, Lindsey Wilson swept its way through the bracket - defeating Georgetown (Ky.) in the semifinals 5-0 before downing Cumberlands (Ky.) 5-0 in the championship match. Lindsey Wilson receives a first-round bye into the semifinals by virtue of being the No. 1 seed in the seven-team, single-elimination bracket. The Blue Raiders face either No. 4-seeded Cumberland or No. 5-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT. Cumberland defeated Georgetown 6-3 at home during the regular season. The Blue Raiders defeated Cumberland 7-2 on April 9 at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex. The Blue Raiders captured all three doubles matches and four singles matches to cruise to victory over the Phoenix. LWC owns a 17-match winning streak against Cumberland dating back to 2005. Lindsey Wilson won 9-0 over Georgetown at home on April 2. The Blue Raiders swept all three doubles matches and took all six singles matches in the victory. The win was the 23rd in a row against Georgetown for the Blue Raiders. This story was posted on 2018-04-20 18:25:58
