Sharon Sue Durrett Bishop, 68, Summersville, Green Co., KY (1949-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church. She was also a retired Agriculture Programmer for the ASCS Office. She was a member of a prominent Green County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Ancil "Bug" Durrett & Wilma Hall Durrett, and the widow of Ronnie Lane Bishop, her husband of 49 years. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Mrs. Sharon Sue Durrett Bishop, 68,of Summersville, KY, departed this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Sharon Sue Durrett Bishop will be conducted at 1pmCT, Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, 1096 Grab Road, Green County, KY, with Bro. Casey Durrett and Bro. Blake Durrett officiating. Visitation was requested from 3:30pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and is requested after 7amCT, Thursday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Campbell Bishop, Troy Durrett, Tanner Durrett, Gannen Durrett, Ashley Shuffett, and Corbin Shuffett

Sharon Sue Durrett Bishop, 68, Summersville, Green Co., KY (1949-2018)

She was born on Wednesday, December 7, 1949 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ancil "Bug" Durrett & Wilma Hall Durrett. She died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at in Glasgow, Barren County, KY. She was 68 years, 4 months, and 8 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church. She was also a retired Agriculture Programmer for the ASCS Office.

Survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronnie Lane Bishop of Summersville having united in marriage on January 3, 1969.

Other survivors include:
  • A son: Derek Lane Bishop of Campbellsville, KY

  • A daughter: Ashley Ree Bishop of Summersville, KY
  • Two grandchildren: Campbell Lane Bishop of Louisville, KY; and Ivy Ree Steagall of Summersville, KY
  • Three brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike and Judy Durrett, Steve and Stella Durrett, and Troy and Marla Durrett all of Green County, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.

    Mrs. Bishop was also preceded in death by a brother: Donnie Durrett.
