CU graduate J Rooney promoted by KY Dept of Corrections

Jonathan Rooney, 2013 graduate of Campbellsville University, promoted to Classification Program Administrator

Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Population Management Kieryn Fannin today announced the promotion of Jonathan Rooney to program administrator in the division's Classification Branch.



"Jonathan Rooney is a terrific choice for this position," said Fannin. "I am thrilled to have Johnathan become part of our team. His experience, enthusiasm and team-oriented attitude will be an asset to the division."

Rooney began his career with the department in 2013 working as a correctional officer at Northpoint Training Center (NTC). In 2015, he was promoted to classification and treatment officer (CTO) at Northpoint, where he most recently served as the institutional transfer coordinator and outside detail CTO.

In 2016 Rooney graduated from the Northpoint Future Leaders program and during his career has received multiple awards.

A 2013 graduate of Campbellsville University, Rooney earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration. He has been a member of the Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency since 2015. - Lisa Lamb is writer for the Kentucky Department of Correcteions
