John David McKinley, 65, Taylor County, KY (1952-2018)

He was co-owner of McKinley Monument Company with his brother, Mark. When he wasn't working in the family business he could be found at his cabin watching the deer or a Nascar race, out on the tractor or ATV enjoying the great outdoors, hunting or taking his grandchildren fishing, or at a family gathering grilling up something special for the ones he loved so dearly. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church. He was member of a prominent Taylor County, KY, family, the son of the late Adolphus L. McKinley and Sue Kathryn Thomas McKinley. His wife Missy Baker McKinley, survives. He leaves a large extended family in Taylor, Green, Metcalfe and elsewhere, to carry on his legacy.

John David McKinley, 65, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 3:25pmET, Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Casey Baker and Rev. John Chowning. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation is 3pm-7pmCT/4pm-8pmET, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



John David McKinley, 65, Taylor County, KY (1952-2018)


John David McKinley was the son of the late Adolphus L. McKinley and Sue Kathryn Thomas McKinley. He was born June 21, 1952, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 65 years, nine months, and 15 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church.

John David was co-owner of McKinley Monument Company with his brother, Mark.

When he wasn't working in the family business he could be found at his cabin watching the deer or a Nascar race, out on the tractor or ATV enjoying the great outdoors, hunting or taking his grandchildren fishing, or at a family gathering grilling up something special for the ones he loved so dearly.

He united in marriage to Missy Baker February 14, 2001.

Besides his wife, Missy McKinley of Campbellsville, he is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Sarah McKinley and Rachel Moss and husband, Curtis of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two step-sons: Casey Baker and wife, Jessica of Campbellsville, KY; and Cody Baker and wife, Ashley of Edmonton, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: McKinley Moss, Camden Moss, Case Baker, Wes Baker, Ty Farmer, Hunter Farmer and Cash Baker

  • One brother and sister-in-law: Mark and Vickie McKinley of Campbellsville, KY

  • His mother-in-law, Betty Bennett of Campbellsville, KY

  • One uncle: Bob Olt of Greensburg, KY

  • Two nieces and one nephew: Maggie Adams and husband, Kevin; Ellie McKinley and Simon Hedeen and wife, Karin

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry McKinley September 11, 1984.
