Wayne Baxter: Great Snowy Owl's appearance in Taylor Co., KY

Huge Snowy Owl, believed to be making first appearance here, is causing quite a stir in Taylor County - with interest across the Commonwealth. Photos by Wayne Baxter included with this story with fabulous photos of the Great Snowy owl and the excitement and valuable attention this solitary creature has drawn to Taylor County and the region, posted today, Saturday, March 31, 2018.
And a Note: - Five Days ago, Derek Coomer caused a huge stir with this picture posted on Monday, March 26, 2018, a photo he'd taken one week before: Great Snowy Owl spotted north of Campbellsville

By Wayne Baxter

A small flock of photographers were gathered on Cave Road (KY 744). North of Campbellsville Saturday afternoon, March 31, 2018. Their interest was a Snowy Owl, a species not seen here before, as far as I know.

I was almost ashamed to stop with my Nikon Coolpix P510.

He (according to one of the birders) had his back toward the road and a side view of it's head was the best I could get.
