Eloise Stalcup, 79, Burkesville, KY (1939-2018)

She was a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church and a former employee of Luther Shepherd Insurance Agency and First & Farmers National Bank. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Cumberland County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late William McKinley Davis and Zola Mabel Johnson Davis. Her husband, Lyle Stalcup of Burkesville, KY, survives. She leaves 42 direct living descendants.

Eloise Stalcup, age 79 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 04, 2018 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Tuesday, April 03, 2018 from 3pm until 9pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.

Eloise was born on February 12, 1939, in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late William McKinley Davis and Zola Mabel Johnson Davis. She died Saturday, March 31, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 79 years, one month, and 19 days.

She was a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church and a former employee of Luther Shepherd Insurance Agency and First & Farmers National Bank.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six siblings, Zelma Higginbotham, Cordis Davis, Billie Myers, Bertie Scott, and Phillip McKinley "Kenny" Davis, and one great granddaughter, Anne Elise Thompson. Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Lyle Stalcup of Burkesville, KY

  • Two daughters: Debra Cooksey and her husband Greg of Summer Shade, KY; and Lisa Thompson and her husband Jeff of Bowling Green, KY

  • Two sisters: Betty Clark of Byrdstown, TN; and Patsy Melton and her husband Roy of Louisville, KY

  • Twenty-four grandchildren: Jeremy (and Tabetha) Cooksey, Josh (and Kelsi) Cooksey, Brandon (and Tiffany) Thompson, Brittney (and Bryan) Hanlon, Bethany (and Gabe) Graves, India (and Kevin) Unseld, Jon Erik (and Hillary) Greene, Dustin Thompson, Jamale Thompson, Isabelle Thompson, Desiree Thompson, Devin Thompson, Blake Thompson, Eliza Thompson, Annie Thompson, Haven Thompson, Lexie Thompson, Audrey Thompson, Steven Thompson, Austin Thompson, Cole Thompson, Cameron Thompson, Callie Thompson, and Sissy.

  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
