Jean Rexroat Hill, 88, Russell Co., KY (1930-2018)

She was a member of Russell Springs Christian Church and had retired from Lake Cumberland State Park as Dining Room hostess and was also a member of a prominent Russell County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Herschel & Sedalia Bernard Rexroat. She was the widow of Jack Hill. She leaves 10 direct living descendants, including many in Adair, Russell, and Casey Counties of South Central Kentucky.

Jean R. Hill, 88, of Russell Springs, KY, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Funeral service for Jean R. Hill will be 2pmCT, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, March 26, 2018, and after 8amCT, Tuesday. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Cemetery. Active Pallbearers: Lee Stephens, Mick Slone, Mark Rexroat. Wyatt Slone, Cory Slone, and Baylen Hill. Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmy Flanagan, Don Byrom, and Trent Tarter.

She was born February 25, 1930 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Herschel & Sedalia Bernard Rexroat. She died Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 27 days.

She was a member of Russell Springs Christian Church and had retired from Lake Cumberland State Park as Dining Room hostess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hill; two sisters, Vivian Gasaway, and Verlene Flanagan; and a brother, Ralph Rexroat.

  • One son: Boyd Wayne (Helen) Hill, Dunnville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Jack Hill, Dunnville, KY: Heather (Mick) Slone, Dunnville, KY; and Lindsay (Lee) Stephens, Columbia, KY

  • Six great grandchildren: Cory Slone, Baylen Hill, Wyatt Slone, Monica Slone, Trey Stephens, and Raegann Stephens

  • Two brothers: H. F. Rexroat, and Ronnie Rexroat both of Russell Springs, KY
