Norvin Ruford Hurt, Metcalfe County, KY (1927-2018)

He was a retired employee of the Metcalfe County Road Department. He was the son of the late Ruford and Virgie Howell Hurt and the widower of Mable Ruth Hurt. He was the patriarch of a widely respected family. He leaves 10 direct living descendants spanning four generations.

Norvin Ruford Hurt age 90 of Edmonton, KY; passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, March 26, 2018, and after 9amCT, Tuesday at the funeral home.


Norvin Ruford Hurt, Metcalfe County, KY (1927-2018)


He was the son of the late Ruford and Virgie Howell Hurt. He was born April 14, 1927. He died March 24, 2018, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 90 years, 11 months, and 10 days.

He was retired from the Metcalfe County Road Department. He is survived by:
  • His son: Gail Hurt and wife Debbie of Edmonton, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Danny and wife Kathy Hurt of Edmonton, KY; and Sandy and husband Alex Roberts, also of Edmonton, KY

  • Five great grandchildren: Jesse (Katy) Hurt, Makayla Hurt, Raelynn Roberts, Kali Mann and Alana Sexton

  • Two great great grandchildren: Waylon and Whitley Hurt

  • One sister: Virginia Bailey of Glasgow
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mable Ruth Hurt, and a great great grandson, Grayson Hurt.
