George Williams, Taylor County, KY (1924-2018) He was an outstanding community leader, achieving many firsts, locally and nationally. He professed faith in Christ and was baptized a member of Mt. Union Baptist Church in Green County, later changing his membership to Pleasant Union Baptist Church. He was the widower of Allene Cowherd. His wife, Celia Robinson DeMers, survives. He leaves 51 direct and five step living descendants. He was a native of Taylor County, KY. His final resting place will be in Green County, KY. He was born February 29, 1924 in the Oak Grove section of Taylor County, KY. He died at Friday, March 23, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 23 days. He professed faith in Christ and was baptized a member of Mt. Union Baptist Church in Green County, later changing his membership to Pleasant Union Baptist Church.
