Freddie Wade Wilson, 75, Edmonton, KY (1942-2018)

He was a lumber stacker. He was the patriarch of a respected family with strong ties in Barren, Metcalfe, and Monroe counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere. He the son of the late Mose Thomas & Enna Belle Walker Wilson. His wife, Mary Nell Fletcher Wilson, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants. He was a native of Monroe County, KY, and a resident of Metcalfe, KY, at the time of his death in Warren County, KY.

Freddie Wade Wilson, age 75, of Edmonton, KY, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 18, 2018, 2pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. Burial will follow in the Wade Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Saturday, March 17, 2018, and on Sunday after 8amCT, until time of services.


Freddie Wade Wilson, Edmonton, KY (1942-2018)


Born December 20, 1942 in Tompkinsville, Monroe County, KY. He was a son of the late Mose Thomas & Enna Belle Walker Wilson. He died Friday, March 16, 2018, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 75 years, two months, and 24 days.

He was the husband of Mary Nell Fletcher Wilson, who survives.

He had worked as a lumber stacker at several local sawmills.

Survivors in addition to his wife include:
  • One daughter: Kathryn (Scotty) Bryant, Glasgow, KY

  • One son: Kelvin Wade Wilson, Edmonton, KY

  • One sister: Brenda Hire, Indiana

  • One brother: Bro. Taylor (Belle) Wilson, Tompkinsville, KY

  • And two grandchildren, Trever Bryant and Landon McCandless
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kelly, Mervin and Charles Wilson; and two sisters, Glaydell Scott and Runelle Pruitt.
