DLG accepting 2018 applications for Conservation Fund grants Deadline for application is April 30, 2018. Grants provide assistance for ongoing maintenance, restoration and development of park grounds and facilities, according to Department for Local Government Commissioner Sandra Dunahoo. Click on headline for complete story Notice from KY Department for Local Government Frankfort, KY (Fri 9 Mar 2018) - The Department for Local Government announces the 2018 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) application is open to the Kentucky State Parks to assist in their endeavors to improve existing outdoor recreational facilities. This will allow the Commonwealth to meet the Kentucky Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreational Plan (SCORP) Strategic Goal in maintaining and enhancing the Kentucky State Park System. "Each year this important federal assistance program provides ongoing maintenance, restoration and development of park grounds and facilities," said DLG Commissioner Sandra Dunahoo. "At DLG we're doing our part to ensure that the investment in these projects will create further opportunities to enhance the quality of life for all Kentuckians." The grant application deadline is April 30, 2018. The application template can be downloaded from the DLG website following this link: kydlgweb.ky.gov/FederalGrants/16_LWCF.cfm. The LWCF State Assistance Program was established by the LWCF Act of 1965 which was enacted to assist in preserving, developing, and assuring accessibility to all citizens and visitors outdoor recreational resources in perpetuity.
