Roger Dale Harper, 70, Metcalfe County, KY (1947-2018)

He retired from Tractor Supply in Glasgow, KY, and was of the Baptist faith. He was the patriarch of a respected Metcalfe County family, the son of the late Doc & Maggie Harper. His wife, Josephine Harper, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants. His final resting place will be at Moore Springs Cemetery.

Roger Dale Harper age 70 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Friday, March 9, 2018, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Moore Springs Cemetery, Subtle, Metcalfe County, KY. Visitation was from 5pmCT until 8pmET, Thursday and after 9amCT, Friday at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Doc & Maggie Harper. He was born December 13, 1947. He died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 70 years, two months, and 22 days.

He retired from Tractor Supply in Glasgow, KY, and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by:
  • His wife: Josephine Harper of Edmonton, KY

  • One son: Alex Harper of Edmonton, KY

  • One daughter: Michelle (Kevin) England of Tony, AL

  • Four brothers: Marshall and John Earl Harper, both of Edmonton, KY; Billy Harper of Bloomington, IN; and Tommy of Gallatin, TN

  • Two sisters: Sue White and Linda Taylor, both of Glasgow, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jessica England, Jordan England, Austin Harper and Cierra London

  • One great grandchild: Norman England
