Stella Sims McClure, 81, Russell County, KY (1936-2018)

She was a member of a distinguished South Central Kentucky family. She was the daughter of the late Sadie Mae Williams Sims & James Arthur Sims and the widow of Willis McClure. She leaves five direct living descendants and many close kin, including descendants of the late Ralph Sims of Columbia, KY.

Stella Sims McClure, 81, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Tuesday at Baptist Health Care in Lexington, KY.

Funeral Services for Stella McClure will be at the Jamestown Christian Church, 65 South Main Street, Jamestown, KY, at 12pmNoonCT, Saturday March 10, 2018, with Bro. Carroll Egnew and Bro Tim Dennis officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Friday, March 9, 2018, after 5pmCT. Burial will be in the Rexroat Cemetery in Jamestown, KY.



Stella Sims McClure, 81, Russell County, KY (1936-2018)


Stella was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on October 27, 1936. She was a daughter of the late Sadie Mae (Williams) & James Arthur Sims. She died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 81 years, four months, and seven days.

She is survived by:
  • A daughter Mitza (Trent) Smith, of Jamestown, KY

  • Two brothers: Raymond Sims, of Nashville, TN, and Phillip Sims, of Bristol. VA

  • Her grandson: Travis (Allison) Smith

  • Her granddaughter: Skyler Smith

  • Two great granddaughters: Everly and Stella Smith

  • A host of nieces and nephews

  • She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willis McClure, two brother Ralph and Roy Sims; and one sister, Ruth Ann Sims.

    Send condolences to the family of Stella Sims McClure.

    Family request memorial donations to the Jamestown Christian Church Youth Levee and can be made at the church.

    H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
