Rita Mae Whitlock of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Elliott and Nellie Jane Wright Warner, was born on Sunday, April 27, 1930 in Marion County, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was 87 years, 9 months and 29 days of age.

The funeral service for Rita Mae Whitlock will be held at 1pmET Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family requests visitation between the hours of 5-8pmET on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Rita Mae Whitlock of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Elliott and Nellie Jane Wright Warner, was born on Sunday, April 27, 1930 in Marion County, Kentucky and departed this life on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was 87 years, 9 months and 29 days of age.

Besides being a homemaker, she enjoyed raising a garden, spending time reminiscing with and about her family and loved her dog Gizmo. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband, Arvin Ray Whitlock, an infant daughter, Diane Whitlock, daughter, Mary Alma Lamkin and a son Mark Whitlock as well as two brothers and two sisters, James Warner, Nora Warner, Steve Warner and Lavita Harris.

As the mother of twelve she is survived by
  • Seven sons and Two daughters: Bill Whitlock and wife Sharon of Campbellsville; Clellan Whitlock and wife Elizabeth of Lebanon; Ronnie Whitlock and wife Jeannie of Fairfield; Mazie Bagby and husband Kenneth of Campbellsville; Paul Whitlock and wife Ila Jean of Campbellsville; Tommy Whitlock of Campbellsville; Mary Redmon Lampkin and husband Charles of Bloomfield; Leo Whitlock of Campbellsville; Jerry Whitlock and wife Chicquita of Campbellsville; and Son-in-law Willam Lamkin, Sr. of Bloomfield.

  • 27 Grandchildren: David Whitlock, Trena Whitlock, Tony Whitlock, Pamela Thomas, Suann Whitlock, Rebecca Cash, Tracy Whitlock, Charles Whitlock, Shannon Yates, Brian Whitlock, Patrick Whitlock, Timothy Whitlock, Wendy Smith, Charles Lampkin, Jr., Jason Lampkin, Brandon Lampkin, Ronnie Whitlock, Jr., LaDonna Barrick, Angela Ball, Kimberly Theis, Willie Lamkin, Jr., Morgan Diane Lamkin, Kasey Clark, Jarrett Whitlock, Isiah Lowe, Levi Whitlock and Gracie Ann Lowe.
