Judy Kell Burton, 71, Taylor Co./Adair Co. native (1946-2018)

She was a member of a large, respected Adair County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late George & Lula Gentry Simpson, and the widow of Jimmy Lee Burton. She leaves three direct living descendants. She was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church. She had worked at the Dining Center at Lindsey Wilson College for several years and at Oshkosh B'Gosh factory in Columbia, KY. She loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Judy Kell Burton age 71 years of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Monday February 26, 2018, at 3:15pmCT, at her home after an illness.

Funeral service Friday, March 2, 2018 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jamie Bryant and Bro. Jimmy York the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT Thursday, March 1, 2018.



Pallbearers: Gregory Burton, Joey Cox, Mike Hamlett, Billy Joe Moore, Dwayne McKinney, Rodney Burton and Donnie Burton.

She was born on April 26, 1946 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, IN. She was the daughter of the late George & Lula Gentry Simpson of Adair County, KY. Seh died Monday, February 26, 2018, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 71 years, She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Burton, on April 4, 2007. She is survived by:
  • One son: Greg Lee Burton of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sisters: Marlene Moore of Columbia, KY; Phyllis Huffaker of Florida

  • Two grandchildren: Aliyah Burton and Gregory Burton

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends
She was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church. She had worked at the Dining Center at Lindsey Wilson College for several years and at Oshkosh B'Gosh factory in Columbia, KY. She loved taking care of her grandchildren.
