Talmadge (Tab) Elton Rush, Summer Shade, KY (1934-2018)

He was a Master Sergeant in the Air Force for 23 years. He was a member of the Beaumont Methodist Church. He was a member of a leading Summer Shade area family. He was the son of the late Ralph Kenton & Maymie Brooks Rush. His wife, Ella Taylor Rush, survives. He leaves two direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in the Rush Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY.

Talmadge (Tab) Elton Rush, age 83, of Glasgow, KY, formerly of Summer Shade, KY, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at NHC Healthcare, Glasgow.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Thursday, March 1, 2018, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Edmonton, KY, with Brother Meryl Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28 2018 from 3pmCT until 8pmCT, and on Thursday, March 1, 2018 after 7amCT until time of services.

Born November 17, 1934, in Summer Shade, KY, he was a son of the late Ralph Kenton & Maymie Brooks Rush. He died Monday, February 26, 2018, in Glasgow, KY, at the age of 83 years, three months, and nine days.

He was a Master Sergeant in the Air Force for 23 years. He was a member of the Beaumont Methodist Church.

His wife, Ella Taylor Rush, survives.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include:
  • One son> Mark (Penny) Rush, Summer Shade, KY

  • Three sisters: Sue Romines, Louisville, KY; Lena Margaret Dickerson, Glasgow, KY; and Mary (Jerry) Stephens, Naples, FL

  • Two brothers: Byron (Buddy) [Suzanne] Rush, Louisville, KY; and Ancel (Butch) [Jolene] Rush, Bowling Green, KY

  • One grandchild: Cody Rush

  • One sister-in-law: Marine Rush
He was preceded in death besides his parents by one brother Charles Rush.
