William Edward Cochran, 71 Casey County, KY (1946-2018)

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and will be accorded full military honors at committal rites at Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia, KY. He was a native of Jeffersonville, IN, and was a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of his death. He was the widower of Glenda Fay Curry Cochran. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

U.S. Veteran William Edward Cochran age 71, of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday February 23, 2018 at the V.A. Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Tuesday February 27, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY with Military Honors performed by the Casey County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Monday February 26, 2018 and after 7amCT/8amET, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.


William Edward Cochran, Casey County, KY (1946-2018)


He was born in Jeffersonville, Clark County, IN, September 14, 1946. He was a son of the late Wilburn & Matrie Cundiff Buck. He died Friday, February 23, 2018, at the V.A. Medical Center, at the age of 71 years, five months, and nine days.

He was the widower of Glenda Fay Curry Cochran.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Elizabeth Fay & (David) Volz of Somerset, KY

  • One son: William Douglas & (Melissa) Cochran of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jessica Fay Campbell, Natasha Leann Thomas, Amber Nicole Hoskins and William Ethan Cochran

  • Two great grandchildren: Reagan Thomas and Connor Jones

  • One brother: Ronnie Cochran of Richmond, KY

  • Three sisters: Linda Evans of Anderson, IN; Joyce Wethington of Liberty, KY; and Dean Smothers of Bradfordsville, KY
Besides his parents and spouse he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Gary Cochran; and one sister, Norma Wheat.
