Brent Cox, 78, Taylor County, KY (1939-2018)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville United Methodist Church. Brent was a retired teacher, coach and an active farmer. He was the patriarch of a prominent Taylor County, KY famil. He was the son of the late Clyde Cox & Loreda Gabehart Cox and is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Bright Bard Cox.

The funeral service for Brent Cox will be at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. John Hall. Burial will be inCampbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 3pm-7pmCT/4pm-8pmET, Friday, February 23, 2018.



Brent Cox, 78, Taylor County, KY (1939-2018)


Brent Cox of Campbellsville, KY, was the son of the late Clyde Cox & Loreda Gabehart Cox. He was born December 23, 1939 in Taylor County, KY. He died at Monday, February 19, 2018 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 78 years, one month, and 27 days. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville United Methodist Church.

Brent was a retired teacher, coach and an active farmer. He united in marriage to Betty Bright Bard on June 14, 1975. Besides his wife, Betty Cox of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by:
  • Three sons: Weldon Brent Cox, II and wife, Dawn of Florida; Erik Christopher Bard and wife, Oksana of Utah; and Lee Byron Cox and wife, Crystal of Campbellsville, KY

  • Ten grandchildren: Bridget Cox, Weldon Brent Cox, III, Kiril Christopher Bard, Kaiya Lexi Bard, Kylan Gabriel Bard, Danika Celeste Bard, Aidan Elliot Bard, Noah Hunter Eubanks, Jadin Glory Deckard and Anderson Samuel Cox

  • One sister and two brothers: Betty Lynn Cox Tucker and husband, Neal of Louisville, KY; Gerald Douglas Cox and wife, Carol Mae and Samuel Cox and wife, Evon of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Garnett Cox and Lucille Poynter.
