Free meals for kids announced for FM2 starting in April 2018 New, permanently placed little building, will be on the Farmers Market on the Square Municipal Parking Lot, recognizable by a unique carrot shaped 'Hungry Kids Cafe' sign. Kids and students eat free. Adults may eat at the cafe - donations only will be accepted, though - there will be no sales Click on headline for complete story, photo of building purchased. By Linda Waggener In the blink of an eye we'll go from the discovery of the first Daffodil blossom on February 18, 2018 to the start of the Farmers Market on the Square the early in April and there's good news for hungry kids. Enough donations have already been raised by Lois Cunningham to pay for half of a little building so that free meals can be served to children again this year. Look for a little building on the back side of FM2 with a unique carrot shaped sign naming it the Hungry Kids Cafe. Mayor Curtis Hardwick has already announced that electricity will be run the extra feet from the front of the market to the building. Lois Cunningham says the Hungry Kids Cafe is not part of the FM2 market but they support it completely. Lois says, "I will not be 'selling' anything, everything that the kids get is totally free. If an adult would like what I have, from coffee to a meal, they are welcome to make donations, but there will be no charge." Anyone wishing to make donations or help feed the children may click "contact form" at the end of this story and columbiamagazine.com will assist in communications to help keep the project moving ahead.
