Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments 13 Feb 2018

Indictments brought against 11 individuals from Columbia, Jamestown, and Russell Springs, KY, on charges including manslaughter, assault, burglary, possession, trafficking, cultivation of marijuana, theft, and receipt of stolen property.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 13 February 2018:

  • James Jonathan Burris (12/2/1988), Liberty Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00066. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Manslaughter, 2nd degree. Count 2 - Leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid/with death or serious physical injury. Bail set at $25,000 cash, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • Duane Bernard Lee (11/26/1960), Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00067. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Receiving stolen property, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail set at $2,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • James Dale Boyd (12/28/1965), Hadley Church Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00068. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Marijuana cultivation, more than 5 plants, 1st offense. Count 2 - Trafficking in marijuana, 5 pounds or more, 1st offense. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $20,000 cash, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • Richard A. Bernard (11/24/1978), Downey Lake Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00069. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Receiving stolen property, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail set at $2,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • James Thomas Griffin (10/29/1996), N. Hwy 379, Jamestown, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00070. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, less than 2g methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of marijuana. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $2,500 cash, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • Jacob A. Jasper (09/16/1996), Glen Bennett Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00071. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, less than 2g methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of marijuana. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $2,500 cash, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • Elizabeth N. Smith (07/28/1995), Marvin Jones Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00072. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, less than 2g methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of marijuana. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $2,500 cash, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • Mark Lee Aaron (11/18/1981), Baker St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00073. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 2 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Bail set at $2,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • William Earl Miller, (01/19/1970), Hurricane Branch Rd., Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00074. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Bail set at $2,500 cash, arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.

  • Bobbi Coomer (07/6/1994), Cedar Grove Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-F-00232. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Assault, 4th degree.

  • Christopher James Driskell (09/12/1990), Cedar Grove Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00075. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree. Arraignment 2-27-2018, at 1pmCT.
