Poetry by Robert Stone: Caring thoughts must flow

Caring thoughts must flow: a sonnet for an eleventh anniversary By Robert Stone
Relationships demand some background talk,
how much or little one cannot foretell,
but stories from those who with friend did walk
and from friendself make sharper outer shell.

Reminders noting caring thoughts must flow
between the both who would each other cheer
with what is happening while on the go
and what in thinking often does appear.

Conclusion never deals with every thread
for death and silence give no answers why
and seeming comforts often are misread
and good intentions bring some hopes awry.

Ah, patience is a virtue only if
it does not lead to climbing fatal cliff.
~ Robert Stone, 12 February 2018
