Johnnie Brenda Finley Harlan, 74, Burkesville, KY (1943-2018)

She was a member of Bow School House United Baptist Church and a Dietary Manager for Cumberland County Hospital. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, a resident of the county at the time of her death, and her final resting place will be in Cumberland. She was a member of a respected Cumberland County, KY family, the daughter of the late Johnny & Jessie (Melton) Finley, and the widow of Gerald Knox Finley. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Mrs. Johnnie Brenda Finley Harlan of Burkesville, KY passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 3pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Jeff Flowers officiating. Burial will be in the Bow School House Cemetery in Cumberland County, KY. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Saturday, February 10, 2018, until the funeral hour on Sunday.

She was born in Cumberland County, KY on Wednesday, December 8, 1943. She was the the daughter of Johnny & Jessie (Melton) Finley. She died Friday, February 9, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, having attained the age of 74 years, two months, and one day.

She was a member of Bow School House United Baptist Church and a Dietary Manager for Cumberland County Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Knox Harlan, whom she wed Saturday, September 27, 1958; and her brothers, Bobby Finley, Lindon Finley, Kyle Finley, and Hayes Finley.

She is survived by:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law, Belinda & Dean Fulbright of Burkesville, KY

  • Her sisters-in-law: Brenda Finley of Indianapolis, IN; and Vivian Perkins of Hegira, KY

  • Her three grandchildren: Johnnie, Amanda (and James) Johnson, and Johnnie Jessie Grissom

  • Her three great-grandchildren: Johnnie Kadence Johnson, and Bentley Goren Johnson

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And special friend: Dominique Mouier of Burkesville, KY
