LWC Wrestling faces Cumberlands in MSC championship

The No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team travels to No. 4 Cumberlands (Ky.) for a Wednesday night dual at 7pmCT at the O. Wayne Rollins Center, 6178 College Station Drive, Williamsburg, KY 40769.

A Blue Raider (7-2, 5-0 MSC) victory over the Patriots (12-1, 5-0 MSC) guarantees a Mid-South Conference regular season title for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders have captured at least a share of the title in all of the past six seasons.

The Lindsey Wilson wrestling team defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) by a final score of 24-12 in a Mid-South Conference dual on Thursday night at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders won seven of the 10 matches on the night including the final five to put the dual away against the Tigers.


Brett Bradford recorded a 17-0 technical fall at the 165-pound class as Corey Hinkle added an 8-0 major decision in the match at the 197-pound class. The Blue Raiders added five decisions and a sudden victory on the night to get the win.

Lindsey Wilson has a host of wrestlers ranked individually in the NAIA. Cam Tessari is ranked first in the 157-pound weight class. Diorian Coleman is fifth at the 165 class as Colton Gonzalez is fifth in the 174 class. Moser is 12th in the 133 class and in the heavyweight class Brandon Reed is 11th and Raynel Brown is 17th.

Cumberlands last defeated Life (Ga.) 25-12 on January 31. The Patriots jumped out to a 16-3 lead after the first four matches of the day. Hayden Lee (No.1-ranked at 125) recorded a fall, Jake Sinkovics added a technical fall at 133 pounds and Tres Leon (No. 2 at 149) added an 18-3 technical fall. Cameron Jones (No. 1 at 184) added a 8-4 decision and Eric Deluse (No. 14 at 197) added a 7-2 decision in the victory.

Lindsey Wilson is 7-2 all time against the Patriots including with a 2-2 record when wrestling at the O. Wayne Rollins Center. The Blue Raiders defeated Cumberlands 20-18 at Biggers Sports Center last season.
