LWC international students focus on their careers in Japan

By Linda Waggener

Two Lindsey Wilson College exchange students from Japan went on their own to the Boston Career Forum, billed as the World's largest job fair for Japanese-English bilinguals, last semester, according to Sabine Eastham, LWC International Program Director.

Natsuki Watanabe and Yusuke Tsukahara said almost all Japanese students do job hunting in the spring of their junior year of college. At this forum, Japanese students are able to put in their resume while they are still in the US and speed up the process of interviews.

Natsuki secured a job in marketing with Asics sports apparel and Yusuke interviewed for a job with a consulting company serving Disney Tokoyo.

Students and working professionals alike attend the annual event to discover opportunities and look to launch careers.

Resumes and professional attire was a requirement. Students were advised up front that casual attire such as "jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers were not permitted at the event."
