AC solid waste committee commends Hardee's of Columbia

Restaurant is first to install drive-through receptacle for trash. Solid Waste Advisory Committee hopes other restaurants will also lead by example. Installation of the receptacle is currently on a voluntary basis.

The Adair County Solid Waste Advisory commended Hardee's of Columbia, for taking lead to help reduce litter on Adair County Roads by voluntarily installing a drive-through trash receptacle at its restaurant in Holladay Place, at 90 Dohoney Trace, Columbia, KY.

The committee recognized Hardee's in the Solid Waste Advisory meeting, Thursday, February 1, 2018, in the Adair Annex Building.



Present were Advisory Board Members Tony Rose, Wendy Burt, Vicky Pike, and Co-Solid Waste Co-ordinators Deputy CJE Andrea Waggener and Bridget Compton present. CJE Michael Lee Stephens

The committee plans to continue to request all Columbia drive through restaurants to follow Hardee's example in hopes of reducing roadside litter.

Hardee's wins praise for installing customer receptacle

Recycling Trailer at Hardee's of Columbia

In addition to the drive through receptacle, there's also an Adair County Recycling Trailer on the Hardee's of Columbia parking lot. It's one of several - maybe six now - recycling trailers placed at strategic places around the county. - EW
