Search underway for suspect in shooting after CU v. LWC games

No one injured from gunfire. CPD Officer Charles Greer is heading investigation; search for suspected perpetrator ongoing. An arrest is forthcoming, Columbia Police believe.

Columbia Police respond to altercation at Lindsey Wilson College where shots were reportedly fired.

At approximately 10:13pmCT, last night, Thursday, January 25, 2018, Adair County 911 received a call that fans at the Lindsey Wilson vs. Campbellsville University basketball game were in an altercation in parking lot.



Additional calls began to come in later that shots had been fired. Officers arrived on scene within minutes. Officers were able to confirm that shots had been fired in the parking lot behind Biggers Arena and nobody had been injured.

It was found that the perpetrator had left the scene but officers were able to get a partial plate with vehicle description and description of person believed to be responsible.

CPD Officer Charles Greer is heading the investigation and an arrest will be forthcoming.

Columbia Police were assisted by KSP Troopers, Sheriff's Deputy's, and LWC Public Safety
