The Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on a request for a zoning change for the Adair County Public Library at 6pmCT, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the City Council Room. The hearing was conducted by Joe Flowers, chair of the P & Z with commissioners Sue Stivers, Roy Rademacher, and George Kolbenschlag and P & Z Secretary Jada Coomer in attendance.

With no one present to speak, the hearing was quickly concluded and the only item to consider for recommendation was presented:
1. Request for zone change from C-1 Central Business District to P (Public) for a lot located at 307 Greensburg Street (PVA MP NO. 000-03 03-001.00). Property owned by the Adair County Public Library. The purpose is to bring the library's property into the proper zone and plans to convert 107 Paull Street into a genealogical research center.
On a motion by Commissioner Sue Stivers, with a second by Roy Rademacher, with Commissioner George Kolbenschlag, the P & Z approved the request, which will be considered by the City of Council of the City of Columbia. Lee Ann Jessie, Director of the Adair County Public Library, and Earnestine Bennett, Genealogical Librarian at ACPL were present at the meeting. P & Z Member Gale Rogers could not attend, Chairman Joe Flowers
