Allen Dwight Curry, 81, Green Co., KY/Adair Co., KY native (1936-2018)


He was a member of Amazing Grace Church & was a retired businessman. He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Greensburg, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Allen Ernest & Gracy Munday Curry. His wife, Kim Loy Curry, survives. He was the patriarch of a very large, highly regarded family. He leaves 44 direct living descendant including one on the way.

Allen Dwight Curry age 81 years of Greensburg, KY formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday Jan. 21, 2018 at Norton Healthcare Hosparus in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Janes the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, 1640 Keltnertown Road, Keltner, Adair County, KY. Visitation willl be after 3:30pmCT, Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born on Saturday, February 29, 1936 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Allen Ernest & Gracy Munday Curry. He died Sunday, January 21, 2018, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Mink Curry, Steve Curry Norma Jean Curry & Geneva Bennett.

He is survived by:
  • His wife: Kim Loy Curry of Columbia, KY

  • Five daughters: Kathy Ann Dishman of Rickman, TN; Debra (Roger) Stearman of Greensburg, KY; Peggy (Darrell) Loy of Columbia, KY; Tammy (Greg) Feese of Columbia, KY; and Mary Whitlow of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Jimmy Allen (Lisa) Curry of Campbellsville, KY; and Steven Ray Curry of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Sandy (Annette) Curry of Glensfork, KY

  • Three sisters: Hilda Curry of Campbellsville, KY; Ocella Perkins of Campbellsville, KY; and Annetta Durin of Campbellsville, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • One expected great grandchild

  • Five great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • A host of other relatives & friends
