William T. (Buddy) Cooper, Putnam Co. IN/Adair Co., KY native (1940-2018)

He had retired from Mayflower Moving Company in Indianapolis. He led a long and fruitful life. Mr. Cooper had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Soul Harvest Church in Cloverdale. He had a lifelong love and passion of music and songwriting. He was born in Adair County, KY, and was a resident of Cloverdale, IN, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Henry & Nellie Rich Cooper. His wife, Patricia Garland Cooper, survives. His final resting place will be Barnett's Creek Cemetery, Pellyton, Adair County, KY

William Thomas "Buddy" Cooper, of Cloverdale, IN, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at his residence.

The funeral service will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, January 21, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Marvin Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Barnetts Creek Cemetery, beside at Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church, 1338 Barnett's Creek Road, in the Pellyton Community of Adair County, KY. The family of Mr. Buddy Cooper will receive friends 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Mr. Coopers grandchildren will serve as his pallbearers.



William Thomas (Buddy) Cooper, Adair Co., KY native (1940-2018)


He was born on February 17, 1940, in Adair County, KY. He was a son of the late Henry & Nellie Rich Cooper. He died Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Cloverdale, Putnam County, IN, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and one day.

He retired from Mayflower Moving Company in Indianapolis. He had a long and fruitful life. Mr. Cooper had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Soul Harvest Church in Cloverdale. He had a lifelong love and passion of music and songwriting.

He is survived by:
  • His wife: Patricia Garland Cooper, whom he wed on June 26, 2009

  • Seven daughters: Anna Modene (Daniel) Cooper of Bowling Green, KY; Ethyleen (Mike) McFarland of Liberty, KY; Vikkie (James) Scherschel of Poland, IN; Julie Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; Heather (Steve) Bryant of Ohio; Darlene Nipper of North Carolina, and Mary Kay (Allen) Storm of Martinsville, IN

  • Eight sons: Joseph (Phyllis) Cooper, Tony (Nancy) Cooper and James Cooper, all of Liberty, KY; Kenneth (Diane) Heagy and Charles (Gina) Heagy, all of Cloverdale, IN; Nathan (Sharon) Heagy of Fillmore, IN; abd Calvin Cooper and Danny Nipper of Cincinnati, Ohio.

  • Numerous grandchildren

  • A sister: Frances Zirkle of Medora, IN
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by a daughter, Lavonda Nipper; three sisters, Evona Shelton, Leona Propes, and Brenda Begly; and two brothers, Edward Cooper and Calvin Cooper.
