Charles Allen, 82, Casey County, KY (1935-2018)

He was a a strong leader. He was a farmer, former Director of the Brush Creek Fire Department, retired from the Casey County School System, and was a Deacon and member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Calvin & Mamye Vanoy Allen. His wife, Edna Hall Allen, survives.

Charles Allen age 82, of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center, Liberty, KY.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pmET Monday, January 15, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brent Allen and Bro. Brent Huggins officiating. Visitation will be at 10amET Monday, January 15, 2018 until time for the funeral. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery.



Charles Allen, 82, Casey County, KY (1935-2018)

He was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on March 13, 1935. He was a son of the late Calvin & Mamye Vanoy Allen. He died Friday, January 12, 2018, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 81 years, nine moths, and 30 days.

Charles was a Farmer, Former Director of the Brush Creek Fire Department, Retired from the Casey County School System, Deacon and member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
  • His Spouse: Edna Hall Allen,

  • Two Sons: Dennis and (Bertha) Allen of Hustonville, Brent and (Joy) Allen of Harrison GA,

  • One Daughter: Rhonda and (Jason) Curtsinger of Mt. Washington, KY,

  • One Daughter-in-law: Elsie Allen-Clark (Kenny),

  • Fourteen grandchildren: Craig Allen, Kristin Allen, Kyle Allen, Ben Allen, Kendra Sandusky, Calvin Allen, Taylor Allen, Wesley Allen, Alex Ware, Alan Ware, Ethan Ware, Madison Curtsinger, Bailey Curtsinger and Brodie Curtsinger,

  • Six great grandchildren: Brooks Allen, William Allen, Zetta Sandusky, Colton Ware, John-Calvin Allen and Jackson Allen,

  • Three brothers: Lowell Allen of Lebanon, OH, Quintin Allen and Donald Allen both of Hustonville,

  • Two sisters: Ina Vaught and Jewell Allen both of Liberty.

  • Besides his parents he was preceded in death by One Son: Ronald Allen.
