Dr. Pamela Stephens: No school in Adair County School District, Fri 12 Jan 2018 Closure weather and flu related - high number of absences for faculty/staff. (Student attendance actually up) By Ed Waggener Dr. Pam Stephens has announced there will be no school in Adair County, on Friday, January 12, 2018. The decision to close schools on that day because of the impending weather, and because of absences of several teachers and staff due to flu. "Attendance was quite good today among students," Supt. Stephens said. "In fact, it was a little higher than Tuesday, but it was a different story with faculty and staff." Students were notified of the decision at dismissal time today, Thursday, January 11, 2018. Parents will also receive a "One Call" telephone message she said. The Adair County School District will be observing Martin Luther King Day with classes dismissed on Monday, January 15, 2018, as scheduled on the calendar. This means that the next scheduled school day will be Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Adair County School District does not offer NTI - Non Traditional Instruction - so a change in the school calendar is expected, to be made, possibly as early as the next Board Meeting, at 6pmCT, Thursday, January 19, 2018.
