Shelby Jean Brown, 81, Jamestown, KY (1936-2018)

She was the matriarch of a distinguished Russell County family. She professed her faith early in life and was a member of Fariview Separate Baptist Church. Her life was in service to Jesus Christ. She and her late husband, Bro. Raymond E. Brown, performed the Lord's work for many years. They lived their faith by example for their family with the expectation that all would be reunited in Heaven. She leaves nine direct living descendants, in Adair, Russell, and Waren Counties of KY and elsewhere.

Shelby Jean Brown, 81, of Jamestown, KY, went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Signature Healthcare at Summit Manor in Columbia, Ky. She was born on May 2, 1936.

Funeral will be 1pmCT, Friday, January 12, 2018 at Fairview Separate Baptist, Hwy 55 South, Russell County, KY. Visitation will be at the church from 5pm to 8pmCT, on Thursday, January 11, 2018, and until time of service on Friday. Pallbearers: Ethan Brown, Darren Brown, Kaleb Butler, Larry Helm, Derrick Helm, Gene Whicker and Jeff Brown.

She was the daughter of the late Vergil Antle & Cora Ella Collins Antle. She was born May 2, 1936. She died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 81 years, eight months, and seven days.

She professed her faith early in life and was a member of Fariview Separate Baptist Church. Her life was in service to Jesus Christ. She and her late husband, Bro. Raymond E. Brown, performed the Lord's work for many years. They lived their faith by example for their family with the expectation that all would be reunited in Heaven. She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Glenda Carroll (Billy), Columbia, KY

  • Two sons; Bro. Randy Brown (Janella), Columbia, KY; and Dale Brown (Patti), Bowling Green, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Madelon Butler, Kaleb Butler, Ethan Butler, Hannah Brown, Rachel Brown and Darren Brown

  • Sne brother: Albert Earl Antle

  • Brother-in-law: Claud Atchley
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Raymond E. Brown; brother, Timothy E. Antle; sister, Rada Atchley; son-in-law, Bobby Butler.
