Mrs. Edmonds was a member of the Milltown United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, yard work, birds and pets. She was a member of a highly regarded Adair County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Elbert & Stella Akin Janes. She was born in Adair County, KY, was a resident of the county at the time of her death, and her final resting place will be in Adair County, KY at Haven Hill Cemetery

Leola Edmonds, 83 of Columbia, KY passed away at her home Saturday January 6, 2018 at 10:32amCT.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. William Davenport and Rev. Daniel Lyons the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 4pmCT, on Monday, January 8, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Leola Edmonds, 83, Adair County, KY (1934-2018)


She was born December 2, 1934 in Chance, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Elbert & Stella Akin Janes. She died Saturday, January 6, 2018, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 83 years, one month, and four days. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Matthew Janes, and sisters Evola Farrow, Marcella Burris, and Lois Willis.

She is survived by:
  • Two brothers; Rev. Jadell Janes & wife Carolyn of Columbia, KY; and Rev. Russell Janes & wife Dee of Cave City, KY

  • Two sisters: Joyce Wallace & husband Danny of Columbia, KY; and Sue Jenkins and husband Jim of Tampa, FL

  • Six nephews

  • Eight nieces

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Edmonds was a member of the Milltown United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, yard work, birds and pets.
