Linda Sue Compton, 67, of Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her home.

Funeral service for Linda Sue Compton will be 1pmCT, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Terry Shelley officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Saturday, January 6, 2017. Interment will be in the Grider Cemetery.



Linda Sue Compton, 67, Adair County, KY (1950-2018)


She was born May 16, 1950 in Detroit, Wayne County, MI. She was the daughter of the late Roy & Ollie Gilbert Hyden. She died Wednesday, January 3, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 67 years, six months, and 17 days.

Linda was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Alfie Compton; daughter, Renee Weddle; and two grandsons, Travis Popplewell, and J.R. Chumbley.

Survivors:
  • Three daughters: Darlene (Tim) Green, Columbia, KY; Chrissy Bryant (Ronnie) Murray, Jamestown, KY; and Melinda Shaffer, Louisville, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Step mother: Betty Hyden, Bethel, Ohio

  • Two step children: Darlene Compton, Covington, KY; and Lloyd (Kathy) Compton, Wilder, KY

  • One sister: Tonya (Kenny) Spurlock, Bethel, Ohio

  • One brother: Roy (Janet) Hyden, Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio
