Dustin Warren begins job as City Attorney tonight, 3 Jan 2018 New City Attorney has been around the legal system his entire life in the family of long-time Adair County Court Clerk Dennis Loy, so he said law was a natural career path for him. By Linda Waggener A new Columbia City Attorney will join the Mayor and City Council at the January meeting tonight, Wed., Jan 3, 2018, taking the place of Marshall Loy who retired at the end of 2017. Dustin Wayne Warren will be new to the job of City Attorney, but he is not new to Columbia and Adair County. He grew up here. He's a graduate of Adair County High School class of 2008 where he was active in band, FCA, Pep Club, Beta Club and National Honor Society. He played basketball and baseball as time allowed. He Worked at IGA through high school and before college. Warren has been around the legal system his entire life in the family of Dennis Loy, long-time Adair County Court Clerk, so he said law was an easy career choice for him. He gained experience in the field working for Adair County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin and for Lebanon attorney Elmer George before he went to law school. Warren said he always enjoyed working with people and "being my brother's keeper."
