Dorothy -Dot- Ann Miers Patton, Green Co., KY (1939-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Liletown United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished organist and a retired school bus driver and teacher's aide, with an ever encouraging, heart-warming smile. She was a native of Luzerne County, PA, and a resident of Green County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late James & Vivian Allen Miers. Her husband of 60 years, Carlton Patton, survives. She leaves 13 direct living descendants. Her final resting place is in her adopted Green County, KY.

Dorothy "Dot" Ann Miers Patton, 76 Greensburg, KY, departed this life Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home in Green County.

There was a private graveside service at the Liletown Cemetery, Liletown, Green County, KY, with Rev. Lee Warf officiating. There was no public funeral or visitation. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy "Dot" Ann Miers Patton was born Sunday, June 4, 1939 in Kingston, Luzerne County, PA. She was the daughter of the late James & Vivian Allen Miers. She departed this life Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home in Green County, KY, having attained the age of 76 years, six months and 20 days.

She is survived by:
  • Her husband: Carlton Patton, to whom she had been married for 60 years

  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Byron & Christel Patton of Colora, MD; and Miles & Melissa Patton of Wilmington, DE

  • One daughter and son-in-law: Amy & Richard Kerr of Edmonton, KY

  • One sister: Linda Cavanaugh of Newark, DE

  • Five grandchildren: Christopher, Paige and Alisha Patton; Cynthia and Tom Gemmill; and Jessica and Adam Pippin

  • Five great grandchildren: Richard Bolt II, Corine Irwin, Trent and Vivian Gemmill and Justine Pippin
